Description:
The position supports the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies (TSC), which is one of six Department of Defense (DoD) Regional Centers.
As ACT1's senior IT professional, the individual will collaborate closely with the ACT1 IT team, the Government IT team, the Associate Director of Mission Support, and other TSC leaders.
Responsibilities include assisting with the administration of multiple government network enclaves for the TSC, including Air Force NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and a commercial government cloud-based network.
The individual will serve as the TSC point of contact for all IT initiatives and act as the escalation point for Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues, proposing IT solutions for the TSC.
Managing user accounts on multiple Government network enclaves and ensuring proper documentation is completed in accordance with DoD and other federal regulations is required.
The role involves coordinating with internal and external Government IT departments to ensure TSC compliance with DoD regulations and providing team support as needed.
The individual will set up, establish, and run program IT, including supporting virtual distance learning programs via various media.
Assisting and facilitating system and technology integration is part of the job.
The role includes helping faculty and staff understand how to use various platforms for conducting distance learning programs.
Support for TSC activities with available IT and assistance to the audio-visual team as required is also expected.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or a minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud-based information systems or certification in a cloud-based information system is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in U.S. Government computer systems, along with knowledge of DoD IT policy and regulations, is necessary.
Current IAM Level 2 Certification is required, with CompTIA Security+ being desired.
A Secret clearance is mandatory for this position.
Experience or certification in Microsoft Azure or 365 is required.
The candidate must be able to work Alaska time zone hours.
Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for this role.
