Remote Cloud Systems Engineer

Description:

• Panoptyc is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join their team in the Philippines, working remotely.
• The role involves leading the migration of applications and services from Heroku to AWS while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• The engineer will implement and manage comprehensive access control systems for all IT solutions and vendor integrations.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and configuring AWS services for security, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• The position requires establishing and enforcing security best practices for cloud resources and IT systems.
• The engineer will create and maintain documentation for all infrastructure components and access control procedures.
• Monitoring system performance, security, and availability, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and collaborating with development teams on CI/CD pipelines are also key responsibilities.
• Regular security audits and compliance checks will be conducted, and staying updated on cloud security trends is essential.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
• Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or system administration roles.
• Strong experience with Heroku and AWS or Azure cloud platforms is necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience implementing and managing access control systems, particularly with Google Workspace, is required.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Google AppScript, Python, Bash, or Batch is essential.
• A solid understanding of networking concepts and security principles is needed.
• Experience managing VDI workspaces in AWS or Azure is preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI is required.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is necessary.
• Understanding of logging and monitoring solutions and experience implementing security controls based on industry standards is required.
