Remote Cloud Systems Engineer - Day Shift

Description:

• The Cloud Systems Engineer will work day-shift hours in the local time as part of a global production engineering team.
• mParticle is a leading customer data platform focused on turning data into insights and action for global brands.
• The role involves maintaining strict production SLAs of a custom distributed application on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Responsibilities include monitoring, alerting, incident management, security, and platform stability and improvement.
• The ideal candidate should have knowledge of AWS, various Linux OS distributions, communication skills, troubleshooting skills, scripting, SQL, monitoring solutions, and network troubleshooting.
• The position requires being a major contributor in a small, dynamic work environment with a balance of technical and people skills.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in Linux server administration.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, ECS, S3, etc.).
• Intermediate scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Intermediate SQL skills.
• Technical knowledge of monitoring and analytics tools like AWS CloudWatch, Sumologic, Datadog.
• Experience with Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Kubernetes.
• Experience in maintaining a secure production environment for US-based customers.
• BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
