Description:

Fullscript is seeking a Co-op/Intern Ruby Engineer for Winter 2025 in Ottawa, ON, with remote work options available.
The internship is a paid opportunity for students legally eligible to work full-time hours (~40/week) in Canada.
Interns will gain hands-on experience and learn through the complete software development life-cycle, from planning to release.
Interns will focus on improving skills in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, participate in project breakdowns, code reviews, and deploy code.
Responsibilities include writing code for new features, updating existing code, fixing bugs, and choosing side projects in areas of interest.
Interns will experience a full workplace environment, including onboarding, mentorship, and collaboration with Tech Leads and teammates.

Requirements:

Candidates must be currently pursuing or have recently completed education in software engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work full-time in Canada.
Previous internship or co-op experience in a team environment within a software company is preferred.
Some experience with Ruby and/or Ruby on Rails is required.
Familiarity with other programming languages (Python, JavaScript (Node), PHP, Java, etc.) is a bonus.
Experience with Git Version Control software, open source work, Mac environments, and SQL databases is also a plus.

Fullscript provides all developers with a Macbook Pro during their employment.
Interns can participate in engaging events such as Town Halls, Hackathons, Bug Safaris, and Dev Talks.
Interns will have the opportunity to ship code, often within the first week, making a real impact on the company.
