Description:

Oddball is seeking a COBOL Developer to contribute to a significant Federal program that positively impacts millions of Americans.
The role involves working closely with engineering and product development teams to facilitate effective communication with customers and provide technical support.
Responsibilities include handling incoming customer requests for information, conducting outgoing communications to prospective customers, and performing technical tasks to configure setups for customers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience with mainframe programming in COBOL.
A comprehensive understanding of developing, designing, coding, and testing changes to enterprise software applications is required.
An in-depth understanding of project management and the software development cycle is necessary.
Candidates should possess vast knowledge of business processes, with experience in healthcare being a significant advantage.
Familiarity with Scaled Agile methodology is preferred.
Experience with databases, specifically VSAM, is required.
Proficiency in platforms/systems such as Windows, IBM Mainframe, and UNIX is necessary.
Candidates should have experience in documenting systems and programs that have been enhanced, developed, and implemented.
Familiarity with tools such as ISPF, ENDEVOR, IBM Debugger, and JES2 is required.
Proficiency in productivity software including Google Suite products, Confluence, and JIRA is necessary.
Candidates should be able to define coding standards to ensure code integrity.
Knowledge of Java, REXX/CLIST, IDz, IWS, and/or GitHub is a plus but not mandatory.
Applicants must be US Citizens and able to work domestically.
Candidates must be able to attain low-level security clearance.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
