Description:
The Commercial Solutions Engineer will be responsible for being the technical keystone throughout the entire pre-sales cycle, working closely with Enterprise prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform.
They will leverage their technical expertise in Cloudflare’s global distributed network and technology to find best-fit solutions for prospects, train and onboard new customers via video-conference, in person, or through documentation, and support the long-term success of the customer.
The Solutions Engineer will be an expert on web/mobile security and performance, developing new firewall rules from log files, crafting performance caching and delivery strategies, and creating or repurposing internal tools and scripts for customers.
They will act as the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare, working closely with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering to Customer Support and Customer Success.
The Solutions Engineer will aim for customer success by seeking out and creating scalable solutions for customer needs.
Requirements:
Candidates should come from diverse backgrounds such as financial consulting, engineering, software development, product management, customer support, and project delivery.
They should have a genuine curiosity for technology and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms.
Ideal candidates will be naturally curious, avid builders, and willing to engage with customers to help them realize the full potential of Cloudflare.
Additional desirable skills include project management abilities, understanding of internet protocols like TCP, UDP, DNS, and HTTP, familiarity with firewalls and TLS (SSL), and a willingness to dive deep into technical aspects of clients and servers.
Bonus skills include experience in sales or consulting, proficiency in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Bash, web application development experience, knowledge of web security concepts like CSRF, XSS, and SQLi, and understanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2.
