Description:
The contract DevOps Engineer will work closely with the Data Platform engineering team at Campspot.
Responsibilities include providing on-call support for Production relational databases, cross-region replication, and data security.
The engineer will improve database performance monitoring, triage query optimization, and work on automated issue remediation.
They will be the primary contact for infrastructure/networking to the Data Platform team and perform proactive maintenance on AWS RDS Aurora database clusters.
Implementing access logging, cost optimization for data stores, rewriting reporting queries, and supporting self-service provisioning of sample data are also part of the role.
The engineer will provide feedback on code reviews, participate in architectural discussions, and develop custom modules to support provisioned AWS data resources.
Requirements:
Demonstrated expertise with AWS services like RDS, DMS, S3, DynamoDB, MSK, Secrets Manager, KMS, IAM, and Cloudwatch.
1+ year of Terraform/Terragrunt module development experience.
Familiarity with cloud security, networking principles, and cost optimization discussions.
Ability to debug local and deployed systems, describe architectural patterns, and work with MySQL and Postgres databases.
Intermediate English level for reading, writing, and communication.
