Description:

Kanopi Studios is seeking a Contract Senior Full Stack WordPress Developer to join their fully distributed team.
The role involves hands-on development and collaboration on WordPress sites while adhering to schedules, estimates, project requirements, and high standards of quality.
Typical tasks include building and configuring WordPress sites, developing native Gutenberg blocks using React, creating templates and patterns for full-site editing, developing custom plugins and themes, writing code and process documentation, and participating in code peer reviews.
The position is 100% remote, but candidates must reside in the US or Canada.
The hourly rate for this contract position ranges from $55 to $75, depending on experience.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of professional WordPress experience.
Proficiency with Advanced Custom Fields (fields, taxonomies, CPT, REST API) is required.
Experience in building custom Gutenberg blocks using React and ACF is necessary.
A strong understanding of templates and patterns for full-site editing is essential.
Candidates should be skilled in JavaScript, including React, with Next.js experience being a plus.
Familiarity with modern development workflows (CLI, GitHub, Docker, multi-environment setup and deployment) is required.
A deep understanding of modern web standards and technologies is necessary.
A BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates should be comfortable working in support roles and have proven experience in an agency environment, preferably remote.
Strong problem-solving abilities, intelligence, and initiative are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate thoughtful, inclusive, and articulate communication skills, both written and verbal.
