Description:
The position is for a Contractor based out of Brazil, Argentina, or Mexico for Senior Backend Software Engineering Services.
The role involves providing back-end engineering services for the content API's and content engineering teams.
Responsibilities include maintaining content licensing, provisioning, and visibility technologies by building out architecture to accommodate growing features and permutations of acquired content.
The contractor will own the expanding and governing content and metadata APIs.
The role requires maintaining and growing back-end data stores and collaborating with cross-functional teams to expand endpoints for various user experiences and consumption points.
Strong communication skills are necessary for interacting with app developers and data stakeholders regarding data system changes and inquiries.
The contractor must be able to translate product data requests into meaningful content API designs.
Deep domain knowledge is required, along with the ability to disseminate that knowledge through documentation, recorded demos, technical presentations, discussions, and incident reviews.
Experience with Python web frameworks is essential.
The contractor should have a strong ability to conduct root-cause analyses related to data irregularities and complex bugs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of backend experience in software development, particularly in a software as a service (SaaS) environment.
Intermediate experience in Python is required to effectively build and deploy highly performant and well-tested REST APIs and create efficient data models.
A firm understanding of relational databases is necessary, along with experience in writing SQL and optimizing data models.
Candidates should have experience in writing and optimizing queries with scalability and performance in mind.
The ideal candidate should be excited to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages continuous improvement through code reviews and feedback.
The contractor must demonstrate the ability to identify missing requirements early in the development cycle, create and maintain performant and scalable backend systems, write resilient and testable code, and deliver on sprint commitments.
