Description:
Apprentice is seeking a talented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team remotely in the United States.
The role involves securing cloud-based platforms, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mitigating cybersecurity risks.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing security controls, monitoring for security incidents, conducting vulnerability management, and ensuring compliance with security standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain security measures across infrastructure and applications.
The position is ideal for a mid to senior-level professional with 5-9 years of experience in cybersecurity.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have 5-9 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in SaaS, cloud security, or software development environments.
Experience with tools such as DataDog, Okta, CloudFlare, WAF, AWS, Terraform, and Python is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, SOC 2, or GDPR is essential.
Familiarity with cloud security tools and technologies like AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, and GCP Security Command Center is required.
Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM systems, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection solutions is necessary.
Hands-on experience in incident response, threat hunting, and malware analysis is expected.
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and Kubernetes, is important.
Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell are needed to automate security tasks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are preferred.
Experience with Zero Trust security models and knowledge of secure software development practices are advantageous.
Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations such as CCPA and HIPAA is beneficial.
