Description:

  • Apprentice is seeking a talented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team remotely in the United States.
  • The role involves securing cloud-based platforms, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mitigating cybersecurity risks.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing security controls, monitoring for security incidents, conducting vulnerability management, and ensuring compliance with security standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
  • The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain security measures across infrastructure and applications.
  • The position is ideal for a mid to senior-level professional with 5-9 years of experience in cybersecurity.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Candidates must have 5-9 years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in SaaS, cloud security, or software development environments.
  • Experience with tools such as DataDog, Okta, CloudFlare, WAF, AWS, Terraform, and Python is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, SOC 2, or GDPR is essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud security tools and technologies like AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, and GCP Security Command Center is required.
  • Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM systems, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection solutions is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience in incident response, threat hunting, and malware analysis is expected.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and Kubernetes, is important.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell are needed to automate security tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty are preferred.
  • Experience with Zero Trust security models and knowledge of secure software development practices are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations such as CCPA and HIPAA is beneficial.
