Description:

  • The Cyber Security Engineer (ISSO) will be responsible for providing risk management for FedRAMP cloud hosted applications, ensuring compliance with Federal and Departmental security regulations.
  • They will prepare and update reports to meet internal and external security reporting requirements, including FISMA and CPIC.
  • The engineer will coordinate security elements with IT Program Managers, evaluate system environments for IT Security Architecture, hardware, software, and associated threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Managing security controls to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information will be a key responsibility.
  • Integrating security into the system development process, defining security specifications, and reviewing procurement requests to ensure security measures are included.
  • Conducting self-assessments, auditing and monitoring system logs for security threats, and ensuring continuous monitoring practices for maintaining security controls.
  • Coordinating incident response with system owners and ISSM, including computer investigations, forensics, and processing of POA&M reviews.
  • Supporting security awareness and training programs, as well as maintaining comprehensive documentation of procedures, SOPs, and technical reports.
  • Updating Risk Management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually or as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or an engineering discipline is preferred.
