Description:
The Cyber Security Engineer at UltraViolet Cyber will provide Security Operations Center (SOC) engineering support to enhance the client's cybersecurity posture.
Responsibilities include designing, configuring, implementing, and administering event collection tier solutions, normalizing and correlating logs and events, and detecting security events, breaches, and attacks.
Utilize automation software to manage servers and devices efficiently, provide operations and maintenance for hardware, and support the full engineering life cycle of systems.
The role requires holding an Active or Interim Secret Clearance.
Requirements:
At least five years of experience in security-focused IT engineering.
Proficiency in automation technologies like Ansible, Terraform, etc.
Experience deploying applications and software in a RHEL environment.
Practical understanding of log and monitoring management systems, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, malware detection, VPN technologies, and encryption standards.
Strong communication skills, experience in network security devices and technologies, and familiarity with security policies and controls.
Knowledge of change, problem, and incident management concepts and methodologies.
Desired certifications include RHCE, Splunk Certifications, Security+, MCSE, CCNP, etc.
High school diploma required.
