Description:

  • Lead and own all cybersecurity and physical security topics at Waabi, defining a holistic, effective, and simple security approach while ensuring strict implementation.
  • Act as a central point of contact for all security-related matters, communicating updates, progress, and potential roadblocks to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drive Waabi’s safety and security culture by applying safety and security standards and methodologies across all supporting teams, including Systems Engineering, Hardware, and Software.
  • Define the overall security concept for the self-driving system and assist with evidence generation by creating a cybersecurity threat model to identify vulnerabilities in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Define access levels, physical protections, and surveillance systems as needed, and conduct adversarial remote and physical penetration testing.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance Waabi’s security processes, seeking novel approaches, identifying lessons learned, and ensuring comprehensive security documentation is easily accessible.
  • Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate security processes where applicable.
  • Collaborate with external partners to integrate and verify cybersecurity and physical security of the complete self-driving system.
  • Lead or assist in cybersecurity and physical security audits and assessments.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree is required; a Master's or PhD in an engineering discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive, robotics, aerospace, or related industries is required.
  • Experience with cybersecurity and physical security in complex security-critical fields is essential.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 21434, ISO 27001, ISO 26262, and/or UL 4600 is required.
  • Proven experience in creating threat models and developing means to protect against identified threats is necessary.
  • Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering, and physics are required.
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a simple yet accurate manner is essential.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab are required.
  • Must be an open-minded and collaborative team player with a willingness to help others.
  • A passion for self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions is essential.
