Description:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity Engineer III) with a minimum of five years of experience to join our existing software development team.
This position is remote and is intended for candidates located in the EST time zone.
The contract length is 7 months, with the possibility of extension.
The role involves collaborating with contractors and staff on security aspects of web and Windows applications.
The engineer will implement and manage IT and cloud security best practices across various applications.
Participation in Agile/Scrum development processes is required, including interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The engineer will ensure applications and systems comply with industry-standard cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
Expertise in securing cloud-based environments, particularly within the Azure ecosystem, is essential.
The role includes contributing to security design, implementation, and review of mobile and responsive applications.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in IT security or cloud security roles.
A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience securing Azure environments is required.
Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience supported by a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience working with Azure Security Services, including Azure Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy and Blueprints, and Azure Security Center is necessary.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD), including conditional access, MFA, and identity protection.
Extensive knowledge in Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is required, with 5+ years of experience.
5+ years of experience with network security components such as Network Security Groups (NSGs), Application Security Groups (ASGs), VPNs, ExpressRoute, and hybrid connectivity is essential.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience implementing and monitoring compliance with regulatory standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
Extensive knowledge in threat modeling, vulnerability management, SIEM/SOAR tuning and response workflows, and security alert triage and forensics is required, with 5+ years of experience.
5+ years of experience performing scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform is necessary.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience integrating with CI/CD pipelines for secure deployments using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
5+ years of experience creating and delivering security architecture reports and documentation is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Preferred skills include 5+ years of experience with relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate (SC-300), CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM.
