Description:
The Cybersecurity Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and resilient technology environment at 2U.
This position requires a combination of technical expertise and a proactive approach to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across cloud, application, and infrastructure layers.
Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining security controls, monitoring security events, and developing tools to automate security processes.
The role involves embedding security into CI/CD pipelines, managing container security measures, and collaborating with engineering teams to integrate security into workflows.
The engineer will support the configuration and security of cloud environments, particularly AWS, and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates.
The position also includes identifying vulnerabilities in application code, supporting secure development practices, and maintaining security for APIs and web applications.
Conducting security assessments, implementing continuous vulnerability scanning, and contributing to compliance initiatives are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, DevOps, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, especially AWS, is required; experience with GCP or Azure is a plus.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python or Bash is necessary.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD is essential.
Knowledge of container security tools and practices is required.
Experience with web application firewalls (WAF) for protecting applications and APIs is necessary.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently, are essential.
