Remote Cybersecurity Engineer

Description:

• Clearwaters.IT is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for the comprehensive design, development, implementation, and integration of architectures, systems, or system components within Military OneSource computing, network, and enclave environments.
• This role ensures compliance with DoD Information Assurance (IA) requirements and guarantees that both development and operational systems are functional and secure.
• The position involves working with program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes that require platform IT interconnectivity.
• This position is 100% remote and requires an active Secret clearance.
• Responsibilities include developing and designing secure and functional systems architectures, ensuring integration and interconnectivity of platform IT systems, and addressing program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes.
• The engineer will evaluate business strategies and requirements to determine security needs, conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, and research and stay current with information security standards.
• Additional tasks include studying architecture and platform to identify integration issues, preparing cost estimates related to security implementation, specifying methodologies and solutions for intrusion detection, and directing the installation and calibration of security solutions and software.
• The role also involves developing and implementing preventive and reactive security measures, creating, transmitting, and maintaining security keys, providing technical support, and completing necessary documentation.
• The engineer will develop and implement test scripts to verify security systems and ensure compliance with relevant DoD and federal cybersecurity policies, standards, and practices.
• They will assist in developing and updating cybersecurity policies and procedures and maintain strong knowledge of DoD Instruction 8510.01 and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD IT.
• The use of DoD cybersecurity tools such as Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) is also required.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in system architecture and cybersecurity is required.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is necessary.
• An active Secret clearance is mandatory.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
• Proficiency in using security technologies and tools relevant to AWS cloud environments is required.
• A strong knowledge of privacy regulations and HIPAA standards is essential.
• Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and technologies, especially within AWS cloud environments, is necessary.
• A strong understanding of DoD IA requirements and cybersecurity policies is required.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Preferred but not required qualifications include DoD 8570 IAT Level III or IAM Level III certifications (i.e., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP).
