Description:

  • The Cybersecurity Risk & Compliance Intern will support the Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team by assisting in risk assessments, policy development, and compliance initiatives aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0.
  • Interns will gain hands-on experience in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) by conducting gap analyses, contributing to incident response planning, and collaborating on security documentation in preparation for hurricane season.
  • Responsibilities include supporting the DTI team in aligning organizational practices with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, assisting with risk assessments, conducting gap analyses, researching and drafting security policies, participating in internal discussions related to incident response readiness, shadowing cross-functional meetings, and preparing a final capstone project.
  • The position is temporary, with compensation set at $18/hour, and is remote.
  • Interns will have opportunities for professional development and exposure to various divisions and projects.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be currently pursuing a degree or be a recent graduate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A foundational knowledge in at least two areas such as Introduction to Cybersecurity, Networking and Systems, Information Security Policies, or Risk Management is required.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in cybersecurity through relevant certifications, participation in cyber competitions, or hands-on labs is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and foundational cybersecurity principles is necessary.
  • Candidates should have 0-2+ years of beginner-level knowledge/experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems principles, along with beginner-level customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, is required.
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa.
