Portcast is a venture-backed startup based in Singapore that develops predictive supply chain technology for the logistics industry.
The company aims to transform international supply chains to be more resilient by helping logistics companies utilize their data effectively.
The Data Analyst will join the lean Analytics team, focusing on data management, quality assurance, and analytics.
The role involves working on a data-heavy product that provides customers with end-to-end visibility of their cargo during ocean movement.
Responsibilities include documentation, reporting, root cause analysis of prediction issues, and analyzing ingested and system-generated data for anomalies and gaps.
The Data Analyst will create data stories, propose solutions for QA process flow changes or automation, and own the execution of these plans.
The position requires automation of performance and accuracy review processes, report generation, and data visualization using Python and SQL.
The Data Analyst will support engineering and data science teams in system-level data fixes and assist customer operations and marketing teams in deriving insights from data.
The role also includes maintaining internal and customer dashboards based on trial/account requirements.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Prior experience in data analysis or data analyst roles, preferably in a startup environment, is essential.
Candidates must be exceptionally skilled in Python and SQL, with a proven ability to produce reusable and highly scalable code.
An eye for detail is necessary to identify anomalies in the system.
Familiarity with Linux, GitHub, and product development is required.
Proven experience with data visualization is essential.
Candidates should possess empathy and urgency to address customer pain points promptly.
A problem solver and go-getter attitude is necessary to meet customer expectations and deliver on time.
Fluency in written and verbal English is required.
A strong ownership mindset, efficiency, and a data-driven approach are essential.
A basic understanding of machine learning algorithms is a plus.
