Description:
The Data Analyst, Finance role is part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team at JumpCloud.
This position is responsible for driving core reporting, dashboard, and analytics support for the Business Finance team.
The role focuses on supporting the team with strategic financial SaaS metrics.
Candidates should be passionate about data and able to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
The role requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to ask difficult questions in ambiguous situations.
Responsibilities include collaborating on data visualization, analysis, and curation projects with the Business Finance team.
The analyst will work closely with the Business Finance Team to consult on their data and analysis strategy.
The role involves owning the outcomes of analytics initiatives and being accountable for project results.
Analysts will gather requirements and provide actionable recommendations to business stakeholders, which will be presented at an executive level.
Mentoring and developing other analysts in the group is a key responsibility.
The analyst will promote best practices in analytics and finance data analysis by building stakeholder relationships and creating resources for end-users.
Support for project management, strategic decision-making, and long-term planning is also part of the role.
Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and governance is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates should have intermediate quantitative experience, preferably in the SaaS industry.
Functional experience in financial analytics, including forecasting, expansion, renewals, Gross Revenue Retention, and Net Revenue Retention, is required.
Intermediate analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis are necessary.
Proficiency in business intelligence/data visualization tools is required, with Tableau experience being highly preferred.
Mentoring skills are essential for this role.
Candidates should have intermediate knowledge and experience in SQL and relational databases, with Snowflake experience being highly preferred.
Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets is also preferred.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to learn are important traits.
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills are required.
Experience with data governance best practices is necessary.
Effective project management and organizational skills are essential, with Agile experience being a plus.
Experience supporting and working with an FP&A and/or Business Finance team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred, with start-up experience being a plus.
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Finance, or other quantitative fields is required.
