Description:
Lightspeed is seeking a full-time Data Analyst to join their financial services team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The role involves analyzing and optimizing operational data to improve decision-making by ensuring access to timely and accurate information.
Responsibilities include gathering requirements and translating business problems into structured quantitative problems.
The Data Analyst will work directly with functional departments to derive business insights from analytical output and present them through compelling data stories and visualizations.
Collaboration with stakeholders and team members is essential to design accurate datasets, reports, dashboards, and analysis for operational and strategic initiatives.
The position requires performing data reconciliation and manipulation tasks while identifying opportunities for automation and integrity checks.
The Data Analyst will apply and promote data governance rules by coaching stakeholders on the discovery, access, and utilization of data assets.
Requirements:
Candidates must have advanced SQL skills, with experience in BigQuery and GCP being an asset.
A strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into data requirements are essential.
Advanced knowledge of Looker or other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI is required.
Strong expertise in data analysis is necessary for this role.
Experience working with Salesforce, Hubspot, or other CRMs is expected.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology Management, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields is required.
Experience with Python, R, or another programming language is preferred but not necessary.
Professional experience in a Business Analyst or Data Analyst role is a plus.
An interest in technology is also beneficial.
