Description:

  • The Data Analyst II will design, implement, and support data solutions used to measure the success of ongoing company initiatives.
  • This role involves creating applications to assist with the consumption and access to data.
  • The Data Analyst will utilize advanced SQL query skills, data mining techniques, data modeling, scripting, and analytics dashboards to help drive insights.
  • Responsibilities include providing data and SQL expertise to business teams and analysts.
  • The analyst must understand how to apply data to bring clarity and understanding to existing business processes.
  • New data solutions will be implemented to support modeling, reporting, and analytical needs of the company.
  • The role requires writing scripts in Python to help manage the data transformation process.
  • Dashboards will be created in Tableau.
  • The analyst will track and repair intermediate to advanced defects related to existing analytics scripts and applications.
  • Participation in the development of technical specifications and other required documentation is expected.
  • The analyst must be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one process.
  • Participation in design and code reviews is required.
  • Ongoing training to enhance job skills, knowledge, and professional growth is encouraged.
  • The analyst will research, test, and apply new technologies to improve systems and processes.
  • Input into project plans and timelines will be provided.
  • Other duties may be assigned based on company needs.
  • This position allows for remote work.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A strong understanding of the business practices of the work comp or managed care industries is necessary.
  • Candidates must have 4+ years of experience with SQL, PostGreSQL, Excel, data analysis, and ad-hoc query development.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Tableau is required.
  • Candidates should have 2+ years of experience working with data files (Fixed Width, Delimited, XML).
  • Experience in the medical/health care/insurance industry is a plus.
  • Medical bill review or workers compensation experience, or administrative support for utilization review is a plus.
  • Experience with Python is also a plus.
  • Candidates must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal contexts.
  • Demonstrating initiative and a positive attitude towards change is essential.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, clients, and providers is required.
  • Practical and conceptual problem-solving skills and analytical thinking are necessary.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is important.
  • Candidates should be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, medical reports, contract language, state laws and fee schedules, and CPT codes.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task are required.
  • Candidates must have proven customer service skills and strong “people” skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
  • Candidates should be highly organized and focused.
  • The ability to identify and evaluate problems and areas needing improvement, recommending solutions to management is necessary.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Tableau is preferred.
  • A desire to continue to learn and improve both self and the organization is important.
  • Candidates should be goal-oriented with a strong commitment to success.
  • A professional presence is required.
