Description:

  • The role is for a Data Analyst/Engineer, specifically for contractors.
  • The duration of the contract is between 3 to 6 months, starting immediately.
  • The position is remote and based in the UK.
  • The candidate will serve as a senior-level Data Engineer/Data Analyst technical lead with a focus on data analytics.
  • Required technical skills include experience with Databricks, Pyspark, and Python.
  • The role demands strong communication skills and a proactive approach to risk and issue management.
  • The candidate should have over 10 years of experience in data-related roles, particularly with Databricks on AWS, and expertise in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions on AWS.
  • Responsibilities include hands-on data analytics, migrating data assets to the cloud using GenAI automation, and migrating data from on-premises to AWS.
  • The candidate will develop data models and deliver data-driven insights for business solutions.
  • Experience with pretraining, fine-tuning, augmenting, and optimizing large language models (LLMs) is required.
  • The role involves designing and implementing database solutions, developing PySpark applications, and generating insights.
  • Data collection and integration tasks include identifying, gathering, and consolidating data from various sources while ensuring data integrity.
  • The candidate will apply data quality checks, cleaning processes, and transformations using Python (Pandas) and SQL.
  • Automation of repetitive data preparation tasks is a key responsibility.
  • The candidate should demonstrate autonomy and proactivity in problem-solving and task prioritization.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or in a related role is required.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (including Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib) and SQL is essential.
  • Experience working with various data formats and sources is necessary.
  • Proven ability to automate data workflows and implement code-based best practices is required.
  • The candidate must maintain documentation to ensure reproducibility and scalability of data processes.
  • The ability to manage tight circumstances and proactively handle risk and issue management is crucial.
  • The candidate should be able to interact directly with colleagues to clarify objectives and challenge assumptions.
  • Clear and concise documentation of data workflows, coding standards, and analytical methodologies is expected.
  • Collaboration with colleagues and stakeholder engagement is necessary to address evolving data needs.
  • Excellent communication skills are required for engaging with colleagues and conveying analytical results in a non-technical manner.
