Description:
We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to join our passionate and diverse Data Team at Treatwell.
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our future by ensuring that our data models and analytical capabilities adapt to the rapid pace of our business.
You will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of our data products designed to empower analysts, product managers, and key business stakeholders with valuable insights.
Collaboration with data engineers and the data product manager is essential to understand their needs and translate them into actionable data assets.
You will leverage your expertise in SQL to deliver the right data in the best format through self-serve tools.
Our tech stack includes open-source platforms such as DBT, Docker, Gitlab, Grafana, Airbyte, and Airflow orchestration.
Our services run on a modern cloud platform using Amazon AWS, including Redshift, ECS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, S3, EMR, EC2, and Secrets.
You will be responsible for collaborating with data product managers and various business teams to create relevant data assets that reveal performance and key action points.
Data modelling of domain and core data assets using SQL, DBT, and LookML will be part of your responsibilities.
You will contribute to the strategy and design of data models and the data warehouse.
Supporting the discovery and integration of new data from various sources (OLTP, APIs, S3) is expected.
You will empower analysts and business users through self-serve tools, education, and documentation.
Defining and managing data quality, documentation, and governance of core and domain data models will be part of your role.
You will manage data exposures in our BI Tool, Looker, ensuring smooth and reliable delivery of data to the business.
Automating repetitive analyses and tasks whenever possible is encouraged.
Fostering a data-driven culture and approach to decision making is essential.
You will collaborate with product managers, analysts, stakeholders, and data engineers on broader analytics projects.
Assisting with both ad-hoc requests and the automation of regular reporting for the business is required.
Creating reports and dashboards as needed will be part of your duties.
Requirements:
You should have experience with data modelling and data design concepts, including Dimensional Models (Kimball, Inmon, Data Marts).
Excellent SQL skills with a focus on writing performant queries are required; experience in other programming languages, such as Python, is a plus but not mandatory.
You must be an articulate communicator comfortable discussing technical matters with both engineers and stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Experience in working with and understanding various business functions such as product, marketing, supply, commercial, and finance teams is necessary.
You should be a creative problem solver with an understanding of when a minimal viable solution can deliver 80% of the required needs ahead of a fully perfect solution.
Proficiency with version control principles, git, and the command-line interface is required.
Familiarity with ETL (ELT) Tools such as DBT (preferred), GCP, SSIS, Databricks, and Airflow is expected.
An analytical mindset with exposure to data warehouses from a previous role is necessary.
You should have experience with BI Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Redash, Looker, or similar).
Prior experience using DBT and LookML is a plus but not required.
