Description:

The position is for a Data Analytics Engineer on a remote contract basis with a leading British company in the leisure and holiday industry.
The role is part of the Foundation Tribe, which is responsible for delivering core digital systems and features that support various business areas, including Customer Data, Payments, CRM, and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
The engineer will manage and enhance the company's data warehouse, ensuring alignment with best practices and internal standards.
Responsibilities include translating business requirements into efficient, reliable datasets within the Data Lake and overseeing data layer management in Snowflake.
The engineer will also design and implement data models, views, and aggregates using dbt.

Requirements:

Candidates must have over 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
A strong grasp of data warehousing principles, with expertise in dimensional modeling, is required.
Proficiency in data transformation using dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud, along with advanced SQL skills, is essential.
Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse platforms is necessary.
Candidates should be comfortable using Git for version control and collaboration.
Strong analytical and results-oriented skills, with excellent problem-solving capabilities, are required.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork are essential.
Fluency in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, is mandatory.
Nice to have: Experience in implementing and maintaining data quality standards, familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its ecosystem, hands-on experience with Python for data-related tasks or automation, understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, and prior experience in mentoring or coaching team members.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate of €35 - €45.
