Description:
The Data Architect for Azure is responsible for delivering modern data solutions for clients, including data ingestion, data pipeline design and implementation, data warehouse and data lake architectures, cognitive computing, and cloud services.
This role requires a passion for data and technology solutions, along with a commitment to continuous learning and market evolution.
The Data Architect will help grow the Rackspace data practice in Southeast Asia and will serve as the local expert, supporting the delivery of data projects on Azure.
Responsibilities include presenting to customers at events and promoting Azure capabilities.
The position involves mentoring and shaping the data practice during its growth phase, working closely with technical resources and Engagement/Project Managers to ensure successful customer outcomes.
The Data Architect must understand clients' business and technology requirements, identify gaps and opportunities, and lead a team of data engineers and analysts to deliver high-quality solutions.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years' experience leading engagements from design to implementation of creative data solutions using Spark-based modern data platforms on public cloud.
At least 2 full lifecycle data platform deployments on Azure using first-party services for Data and Analytics.
Extensive experience with Azure foundation and cloud engineering concepts, including network, security, cost estimation, common IaaS and PaaS services, and monitoring.
Strong knowledge of Spark, SQL, Data Modeling, and Data lakehouse concepts.
Programming or scripting experience in Python and Scala is required.
A minimum of 5 years' experience architecting solutions for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources, including structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data using SQL, NoSQL, and data pipelines for real-time, streaming, batch, and on-demand workloads.
At least 3 years of experience with analytics/data management strategy formulation, architectural blueprinting, and effort estimation of analytics.
A minimum of 3 years working in cloud or multi-server complex environments, with extensive experience in Azure.
The ability to simplify complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for communication with executives and business stakeholders.
