Description:

BioRender is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Data Platform team, which is essential for collecting and unlocking data at BioRender.
The role involves building and maintaining the architecture and tooling to support data science, analytics, product, and machine learning initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building data products and shaping data strategy in a fast-paced startup environment.
BioRender aims to transform complex data into clear, intuitive visuals that can be easily interpreted by scientists and decision-makers.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of data engineering experience in a relevant industry.
Expertise in Data Warehousing platforms, preferably AWS RedShift or Snowflake, and familiarity with data lake/lakehouse architectures is required.
Experience with Data Streaming platforms, such as AWS Kinesis or Firehose, is essential.
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to creatively solve complex architectural problems and think critically about tradeoffs and systems design.
Effective communication skills are necessary to translate technical designs into business representations and analyze business needs.
Proficiency in SQL and programming languages commonly used in data platforms, such as Python and Spark, is required.
Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and data pipeline integrations (e.g., Airbyte, Stitch) is expected.
