Description:
The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for a public health organization as part of the Workforce Acceleration Initiative (WAI).
This role involves creating and managing systems and pipelines for efficient data flow, including ingestion, processing, and storage.
The Data Engineer will utilize Rhapsody to collect, transform, and clean data, ensuring accuracy and consistency before loading it into storage systems or data warehouses.
Responsibilities include optimizing data pipelines, monitoring for performance issues, implementing security measures, and collaborating with data scientists and analysts to meet data needs.
The position is remote, requires a work schedule of 8:00 am β 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday, and is grant funded with a limited-term opportunity ending on June 30, 2025.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field is preferred, with equivalent professional experience acceptable.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, particularly with Rhapsody integration engine and managing data pipelines in a public health or healthcare environment.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL is required, with the ability to implement data automations within existing frameworks.
Rhapsody Associate certification or equivalent experience is mandatory.
Strong understanding of database systems, including relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, is essential.
Experience with engineering best practices, data warehousing concepts, and cloud computing platforms like AWS is required.
Candidates should possess expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also required.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $103,500-$143,500 per year, with individual offers based on experience and qualifications.
