Description:
Middle Seat is a full-service media and fundraising firm that supports campaigns, organizations, and causes focused on racial justice, climate action, immigrant rights, intersectional feminism, and economic justice.
The Data Engineer will lead the development and management of data infrastructure to provide insights and tools for fundraising and voter communication.
The role involves working with a tech stack that includes AWS (S3), SQL, Redshift, Python, Github, and Google Looker Studio, as well as the Democratic Party tech stack.
This is a full-time, permanent position that can be based in Washington, DC, or remotely within the US.
The role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement as part of the Campaign Workers Guild.
Responsibilities include developing and optimizing data systems, analyzing data, managing large datasets, ensuring database integrity, and collaborating with various teams to support data initiatives.
Requirements:
Candidates must have proficiency in SQL, Redshift, and Python with 3-5 years of professional experience.
Experience in deploying and managing data pipelines is required.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities are essential.
Candidates should be able to prioritize projects and work independently or delegate tasks as needed.
A proactive attitude and eagerness to excel in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets with experience in advanced formulas is required.
Familiarity with dbt for data build tooling is preferred.

The salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, depending on relevant experience.
