Description:
We are looking for an accomplished Data Engineer to join our quickly growing Analytics team.
The hire will be responsible for expanding and improving our data and data pipeline architecture.
The role includes optimizing data flow and Master Data Management (MDM) for cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.
The Data Engineer will support database architects, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives.
They will ensure optimal data delivery throughout ongoing projects.
The candidate must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data pipelines to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and operating large scale data pipelines to support internal and external consumers, improving and automating internal processes, integrating data sources to meet business requirements, and writing robust, maintainable, well-documented code.
Requirements:
2-4 years of professional Data Engineering and Data warehousing experience is required.
A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
Extremely strong implementation experience in Python, Parquet, Spark, Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Databricks Data Warehouse, Databricks workflows, Delta Sharing, and Unity Catalog is necessary.
SQL development knowledge, including stored procedures, triggers, jobs, indexes, partitioning, and pruning, is required.
The candidate must be able to write and debug complex SQL queries.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT and Data-warehousing techniques and best practices is essential.
Experience building, maintaining, and scaling ETL/ELT processes and infrastructure is required.
Implementation experience with various data modeling techniques is necessary.
Experience working with a BI visualization tool, such as Sisense, is a plus.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, preferably Gitlab or Jenkins, is required.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure, is strongly preferred.
The candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced product environment, with an attitude of getting the job done with the least amount of tech debt.
Highly preferred experience includes UI development frameworks such as JavaScript, Django, REACT, etc.
Knowledge of working with various ingestion patterns such as API/SQL servers is preferred.
Knowledge of Master Data Management is a plus.
Prior financial industry experience is advantageous.
The candidate must be able to navigate ambiguity and pivot based on business priorities with ease.
Strong communication, negotiating, and estimating skills are required.
The candidate should be a team player and able to collaborate well.
