MedScout is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Engineering team in a remote capacity.
The mission of MedScout is to empower MedTech commercial teams with data, insights, and tools for delivering medical innovations.
The Data Engineer will help build and optimize data infrastructure that processes billions of healthcare claims, transforming complex data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and PySpark, ensuring high data quality and performance optimization.
The role involves developing processes to integrate multiple data sources into a unified data model for MedScout's sales enablement platform.
Collaboration with Product, Customer Success, and Sales leaders is essential to understand customer needs and inform design decisions.
The Data Engineer will work with data scientists and analysts to implement data transformations for advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
Troubleshooting and resolving complex data pipeline issues, optimizing system performance, and contributing to continuous improvement of data infrastructure are key tasks.
The position requires optimizing workloads and cluster configurations to reduce compute costs while maintaining performance.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience building, maintaining, and operating data pipelines in modern data warehouses like Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift.
Proficiency in Python and PySpark is required.
A good understanding of data modeling and schema design, especially with complex relationships and high-volume data processing, is necessary.
Expertise in data quality frameworks, including automated testing, validation, and monitoring of data pipelines, is essential.
Familiarity with modern software development practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code, is expected.
The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical specifications is crucial.
Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are required.
