Description:
Talentus is seeking a Data Engineer to join their dynamic team in Costa Rica.
The Data Engineer will work closely with a multi-disciplinary agile team to build high-quality data pipelines that drive analytic solutions.
These solutions will generate insights from the organization's connected data, enhancing data-driven decision-making capabilities.
The role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and basic data science techniques.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
The Data Engineer will implement ETL processes to ensure data is transformed and loaded into data warehouses or data lakes.
The role involves creating data products for analytics teams, maintaining documentation for data pipelines, and conducting training sessions for end-users.
The Data Engineer will develop data quality checks and collaborate with data governance teams to establish data standards.
The position requires partnering with business analysts and solutions architects for strategic enterprise projects.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data engineering or architecture role is required, with 7+ years preferred.
Significant experience in developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or SQL is required.
Experience with ETL/data pipelines and tools like Microsoft SSIS or Azure Data Factory is essential.
Familiarity with cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space is preferred.
Database development experience using Hadoop or BigQuery and knowledge of various relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies is required.
Strong knowledge of data and analytics concepts, including dimensional modeling and data governance, is necessary.
Experience with Big Data development tools like Hive, Impala, and Spark is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with English proficiency at C1 level or above, are required.
The candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
