Description:
Cylinder is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support claims processing, data insights, and analytics efforts in the healthcare and insurance industry.
The role involves integrating external and internal data sources, with a focus on medical and prescription claims data ingestion to enable data analytics and data science efforts.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with Clinical Research and Client Success teams to assess the impact of programs on clinical outcomes and personalize the member experience.
Responsibilities include expanding capabilities to organize medical and pharmaceutical claims data, writing automated pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing software with documentation, test coverage, and metrics.
The ideal candidate should be able to reason through distributed systems and deliver solutions emphasizing simplicity, reliability, and supportability.

Requirements:
3+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines, SaaS solutions, or related technologies.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ELT/ETL solutions, with experience in medical, healthcare, or population health data.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks like BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in a regulated environment supporting data security and privacy controls.
Desired qualifications include experience with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks and a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
