Description:
KOHO is seeking a Data Engineer for a remote role based in Canada.
The successful candidate will develop robust data pipelines and integrate various data sources and systems.
This role involves collaboration with internal teams including data analytics, data science, and business intelligence to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility.
The candidate should understand the strategic importance of data in a financial context and be eager to build the infrastructure to support it.
The Data Engineer will report to the Senior Development Manager and be part of a team that maintains and expands KOHO’s data engineering platform.
Responsibilities include practicing KOHO values, gathering requirements for and implementing streaming and batch pipelines, supporting business users, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists, implementing shared infrastructure, contributing to internal standards, and participating in rotating on-call duties.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with data is required.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, Apache Spark, Terraform, and Bash scripting is necessary.
Experience with AWS Cloud-based services such as Glue, Redshift, and Lambda is required.
Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow and Luigi is essential.
Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and alerting tools such as DataDog and PagerDuty is needed.
Experience in solving problems and resolving outages in a large-scale production environment is important.
AWS Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, and/or Data Engineering certifications are considered a plus.
A passion for learning and acquiring a deep understanding of data-driven use cases is essential.
