Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with over a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services.
• The company helps clinicians monitor the use and misuse of prescription medications and illicit drugs.
• The testing provides healthcare professionals with objective information about patients’ recent use of medications and assists in monitoring treatment effectiveness.
• The Data Engineer will analyze, design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes and applications using Snaplogic and SSIS ETL/ELT tools.
• The role involves collaboration with application developers, business partners, management, and the Data Warehouse team.
• Responsibilities include developing ETL/ELT procedures based on business requirements and service level agreements, delivering quality data integration projects, and reviewing requirements and design components of projects.
• The Data Engineer will also develop and document systems and processes to expose existing data sets for reporting and analysis.
• Monitoring ETL/ELT applications for performance and improvement opportunities is essential.
• The position requires ensuring the quality, consistency, and security of company data and data warehouse systems.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex software and data problems, as well as performing packaging and release management, are key tasks.
• This is a 100% telecommute position reporting to San Diego, CA.
• The role requires adherence to HIPAA, confidentiality, compliance policies, and technical cyber security controls.

Requirements:

• A Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in ETL development, software engineering, software development, or a combination of these fields is necessary, with all experience being post-Bachelor’s degree.
• Candidates must have 1 year of experience with the following skills:
  • ETL development using SSIS or SnapLogic.
  • Writing, performance tuning, and debugging SQL Server stored procedures.
  • Working with Transactional or Fact-Dimensional Databases.
  • Utilizing Data Warehouse and BI Reporting methodologies.
  • Logical and Physical Database Design.
  • Working with SQL and T-SQL.
  • Testing self-drafted code.
  • Using source control tools, including Bitbucket and SVN.
• Any and all experience can be gained concurrently.
• The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
