Description:

  • Meridia is an AgTech company specializing in field data within complex smallholder-heavy agri-commodity supply chains such as cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, and soy.
  • The company’s flagship SaaS product, Meridia Verify®, verifies supply chain field data in real time and validates compliance with frameworks like the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation).
  • The Data Engineer will model, structure, and script data flows, working on automating data processing to create meaningful outputs.
  • This position is based in Indonesia and involves collaboration with teams in The Netherlands, Lithuania, and Ghana, reporting to the Data Manager in Indonesia.
  • Responsibilities include writing Python scripts for data acquisition, maintaining metadata, developing internal tools for data processing, overseeing data cleaning, maintaining a git repository of ETL scripts, contributing to data catalogues, and driving operational efficiency improvements.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Candidates must possess rigorous problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to effectively collect and organize data from multiple sources is essential.
  • A strong understanding of data management and data entry processes is required.
  • Candidates should be independently driven, proactive, accountable, and reliable team players.
  • Full working proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with GIS scripting (Python, geopandas, PostGIS) and GIS software like QGIS, as well as ETL experience, is advantageous.
  • Basic BPMN modeling, SQL knowledge, and an educational background in computer science, econometrics, or mathematics are preferred.
  • Start-up experience is considered a plus.
