Description:

  • The Data Engineer will be responsible for building core infrastructure software, including pipelines, APIs, and data modeling, as part of the client's data platform team.
  • The role involves instrumenting systems for performance and enhancement throughout the data offerings.
  • The engineer will ensure secure authentication patterns for various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities include choosing and implementing appropriate technologies for scaling data access patterns, batch processing, and data streaming for soft real-time consumption.
  • The engineer will coach and mentor other engineers to support their technical expertise growth.
  • The position requires proven experience in writing highly maintainable and performant Python code.
  • Experience in building modern data pipelines using tools such as dbt, Kafka, Spark, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow is essential.
  • A deep understanding of complex SQL, particularly Common Table Expressions and window functions, is required.
  • Experience with OLAP databases, especially Snowflake, is necessary.
  • The role also requires end-to-end monitoring and alerting experience using tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience writing highly maintainable and performant Python code is required.

  • A strong understanding of Data Modeling patterns is necessary.

  • A distinct customer focus and quality mindset are necessary.
  • Experience working closely with engineering leadership and architects to deliver high-quality solutions is required.
  • Candidates should maintain a high degree of ownership and transparency in deliverables.
  • Exceptional communication skills are necessary to communicate complex ideas simply.
