Description:

  • Cylinder is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team and work on building and supporting ETL pipelines for analytics efforts.
  • The role involves integrating various external and internal data sources, creating automated pipelines and workflows for stakeholders, and collaborating with Data Science, Clinical Research, and Client Success teams.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to reason through distributed systems interactions and deliver solutions emphasizing simplicity, reliability, and scalability.
  • The company is still in its early stages, offering the opportunity to shape its future and make significant contributions to the field of GI health.
  • Responsibilities include expanding capabilities to ingest, transform, and organize medical, insurance, and microbiome datasets, writing and implementing automated pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, organizing and automating data warehouse datasets, and partnering with product stakeholders.
  • Desired qualifications include 3+ years of experience in building and supporting data pipelines on cloud infrastructure, proficiency in SQL, Python, ELT/ETL solutions, familiarity with Google Cloud Platform frameworks, experience with DBT, outstanding communication skills, and a degree in Computer Science or a related field is a bonus.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines on cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ELT/ETL solutions.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks like BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer.
  • Experience with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Bonus: Degree in Computer Science or related field, experience with medical, healthcare, or population health data, and working in a HIPAA regulated environment.
