Description:
We are an ambitious, remote-first travel scale-up looking for an exceptional Data Engineer.
This role involves being the first dedicated Data hire, enhancing our data capabilities.
You will collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to refine data pipelines and optimize tracking.
Key responsibilities include enhancing DBT pipelines, maintaining the Redshift warehouse, and improving tracking with analytics tools.
You will own data engineering processes and support various data-driven initiatives, including reporting and groundwork for machine learning models.
The position offers autonomy in shaping our data strategy while fostering a data-driven culture.
Requirements:
Proven experience with Python and SQL, including DBT for data transformation.
Experience with modern data warehousing systems like Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
Bonus points for experience with tracking and analytics tools like Segment, GA4, or PostHog.
Experience integrating data pipelines with ETL tools like Stitch Data.
Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker), deployment pipelines, and monitoring tools is a plus.
A passion for creating scalable data solutions that deliver meaningful value.
Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.
A focus on maintaining reliable and optimized data pipelines while addressing new challenges.
A mid to senior level of experience, with at least 5 years in the industry.
