Description:

  • We are an ambitious, remote-first travel scale-up looking for an exceptional Data Engineer.
  • This role involves being the first dedicated Data hire, enhancing our data capabilities.
  • You will collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to refine data pipelines and optimize tracking.
  • Key responsibilities include enhancing DBT pipelines, maintaining the Redshift warehouse, and improving tracking with analytics tools.
  • You will own data engineering processes and support various data-driven initiatives, including reporting and groundwork for machine learning models.
  • The position offers autonomy in shaping our data strategy while fostering a data-driven culture.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Python and SQL, including DBT for data transformation.
  • Experience with modern data warehousing systems like Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
  • Bonus points for experience with tracking and analytics tools like Segment, GA4, or PostHog.
  • Experience integrating data pipelines with ETL tools like Stitch Data.
  • Hands-on experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker), deployment pipelines, and monitoring tools is a plus.
  • A passion for creating scalable data solutions that deliver meaningful value.
  • Ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • A focus on maintaining reliable and optimized data pipelines while addressing new challenges.
  • A mid to senior level of experience, with at least 5 years in the industry.
