Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• Cylinder is seeking a Data Engineer to work remotely and support claims processing, data insights, and analytics efforts in the healthcare and insurance industry.
• The role involves integrating external and internal data sources, with a focus on medical and prescription claims data ingestion to enable data analytics and data science efforts.
• The Data Engineer will collaborate with Clinical Research and Client Success teams to assess the impact of programs on clinical outcomes and personalize the program experience for members.
• Responsibilities include expanding capabilities to organize medical and pharmaceutical claims data, writing automated pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing software with documentation, test coverage, and metrics.
• The ideal candidate will emphasize simplicity, reliability, and supportability in delivering solutions for a distributed system.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines, SaaS solutions, or related technologies.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ELT/ETL solutions, with experience in medical, healthcare, and population health data.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks like BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a HIPAA regulated environment.
• Experience with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks is a bonus.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
