Description:
Cylinder is seeking a Data Engineer to work remotely and support claims processing, data insights, and analytics efforts in the healthcare and insurance industry.
The role involves integrating external and internal data sources, with a focus on medical and prescription claims data ingestion to enable data analytics and data science efforts.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with Clinical Research and Client Success teams to assess the impact of programs on clinical outcomes and personalize the program experience for members.
Responsibilities include expanding capabilities to organize medical and pharmaceutical claims data, writing automated pipelines, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing software with documentation, test coverage, and metrics.
The ideal candidate will emphasize simplicity, reliability, and supportability in delivering solutions for a distributed system.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines, SaaS solutions, or related technologies.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ELT/ETL solutions, with experience in medical, healthcare, and population health data.
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks like BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a HIPAA regulated environment.
Experience with DBT or similar data transformation frameworks is a bonus.
A degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
