Description:
Sabot Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer for the Early Childhood and Family Support Division (ECFSD) to work on the Early Childhood Integrated Data System (ECIDS) effort.
The role involves building a centralized data system/warehouse to unify data within the division.
Responsibilities include streamlining data workflows, enhancing data infrastructures for scalability and collaboration, and identifying opportunities to optimize delivery.
The Data Engineer will manage all data assets, including a data lake, and help deliver modernized reporting and Business Intelligence solutions.
The position requires unifying multiple disconnected data systems and designing a centralized data integration process.
The Data Engineer will enable data sharing and interoperable data exchange for the Division, the Department, other state agencies, and external partners/providers.
The role oversees all stages of data onboarding, transformation, and enablement, assembling complex data sets that meet business requirements.
Collaboration with associated programs to collect, prepare, organize, and secure the department’s data assets is essential, along with implementing data privacy policies.
The Data Engineer will provide data models and engage in data modeling efforts as needed, delivering high-quality, uniform data to support analytics.
The position also involves preparing data for analytical and operational uses, integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data for analytics applications.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics, computer science, information technology, or related fields.
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science from an accredited College or University is required.
Applicants should have 5+ years of experience building Snowflake data warehouse solutions that incorporate data from multiple source systems.
5+ years of experience integrating reporting solutions, specifically with Thoughtspot, PowerBI, and/or Tableau, is necessary.
Candidates must have 5+ years of Data Modeling experience.
Significant experience in producing deliverables on a regular cadence and reporting on status to stakeholders is required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical understanding is essential.
A Master’s Degree in a Data Science field is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with Child Welfare systems and data integration is considered a plus.
