Description:
GiveDirectly is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Central Data team to enhance the organization's data-driven culture.
The role involves collaborating with the Finance team to build, maintain, and enhance data pipelines, tools, and dashboards.
The Data Engineer will work with the Senior Data Architect to ensure data accessibility for data scientists and analysts.
Responsibilities include automating reconciliation tasks, making detailed financial data accessible, ingesting new data sources, and improving data infrastructure.
The position requires proactive identification and implementation of improvements to data infrastructure and tools.
The Data Engineer will be part of an inclusive and diverse team that values emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and inclusivity.
The role is fully remote but must overlap with an East Africa timezone by at least 4 hours.
Travel may be required 1-2 times per year for team retreats or field visits.
Requirements:

Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark is required.
Experience with Databricks is preferred, and familiarity with Tableau is a plus.

Fluency in English is mandatory.
