Description:
CodePath, a national non-profit, is seeking a Data Engineer to lead the charge on their small, skilled, and growing team.
The Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to build and maintain the next generation data infrastructure, focusing on data warehousing, ETL/ELT workflows, and data pipelines.
The role involves developing self-serve, accurate, and secure data infrastructure to support data science projects, ML modeling, and BI analysis across various areas like course delivery, student marketing, sales, and fundraising.
Key activities include architecting and developing data platforms, designing data models, developing ETL/ELT processes, maintaining data ingestion connectors, and developing reporting dashboards.
The ideal candidate should be inspired by CodePath's vision to transform education, have 2-5 years of relevant experience, strong SQL skills, experience with cloud data warehouses, and familiarity with tools like Postgres, Airbyte, dbt, and Tableau.
Requirements:
2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering.
Good understanding of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling and data normalization.
Substantial experience with SQL, building efficient data pipelines, and tuning query performance.
Experience managing cloud data warehouses like Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or Amazon Redshift.
Familiarity with tools such as Postgres, Airbyte, dbt, and Tableau.
Strong presentation skills and ability to make technical concepts understandable for stakeholders.
Proven ability to drive projects from conception to completion, problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, proactive, independent, responsible attitude, and quick learner.
