Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• The Data Engineer will assist in designing and implementing ETL processes using AWS Glue to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data lakes, data warehouses, or other target systems.
• The role involves collaborating with senior data engineers to understand data requirements and contribute to the development of efficient and scalable Glue jobs.
• The engineer will support the optimization and performance tuning of Glue jobs to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
• Responsibilities include contributing to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows to automate data ingestion, transformation, and data quality checks.
• The engineer will work closely with the team to identify and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data availability, accessibility, and timeliness.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of data processing jobs is also part of the role.
• The position requires learning and applying best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security within the AWS environment.

Requirements:

• The candidate must support data engineering activities on the Digital Assistants team, with skills including Python, NodeJS, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in relational databases such as SQL and MySQL is required.
• Experience with non-relational databases, specifically DynamoDB, is necessary.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, particularly with Redshift, is essential.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, is required.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Glue and SSIS is necessary.
• Skills in APIs and data integration are required.
• The candidate should have experience in data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization.
