Data Engineers at NCX are responsible for developing a distinct profile of every acre of land across millions of properties in the contiguous United States.
This role involves using remote satellite imagery and open-source tools to identify key characteristics of land parcels.
Data Engineers will help landowners find new revenue streams while promoting nature-positive actions like tree planting or harvest deferral.
The technology stack includes Python (FastAPI, Celery), Postgres (PostGIS), eoAPI, AWS (CDK, Lambda, Batch, Elasticache), and GDAL.
Data Engineers will collaborate with various teams at NCX, including Marketing, Product, Business Development, and Platform Engineering.
Requirements:
Candidates must be proficient in Python.
Advanced knowledge of geospatial concepts, terms, libraries, and techniques is required, particularly with PostGIS, GDAL, and shapely.
A minimum of 2 years of experience working on geospatial problems is necessary.
Candidates should be self-directed and have a proven track record of overcoming challenges to achieve success.
Exemplary candidates will have experience in forestry, ecology, or other earth sciences.
Experience in building and maintaining large data pipelines is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working on geospatial problems is highly desirable.
Benefits:
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and qualifications, with a pay range of $120,000β$160,000 USD.
Employees may be eligible for equity in addition to base salary.
