Description:
The Data Engineer will play a crucial role on the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team, supporting stakeholders across all business units including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Growth, UX, Customer Success, and Product.
The primary responsibility is to develop data pipelines, curate and model data, and design databases to enable insights and self-service across the analytics team and organization.
The role involves collaboration with analytics teams, technical teams, and business stakeholders to maintain data pipelines, curated data models, and database designs that support business and analytics insights.
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about data and continuous improvement, capable of balancing multiple projects, asking insightful questions, and coordinating execution across various stakeholders.
A proactive and hands-on approach is essential due to the fast-moving nature of the company.
Responsibilities include collaborating on impactful projects, owning outcomes of analytics initiatives, gathering requirements, mentoring other analysts and engineers, supporting project management, and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have intermediate knowledge and experience in SQL and relational databases, with Snowflake experience highly preferred.
Intermediate knowledge in database design, data modeling, data infrastructure, data pipelines, and ELT processes is required, with familiarity in DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, AWS, and GitHub preferred.
An understanding of coding and markup languages is necessary, along with the ability to create complex queries from multiple data sources.
Intermediate experience with scripting languages such as Python (numpy, pandas) is required.
Candidates should possess analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis.
Experience with business intelligence/data visualization tools, particularly Tableau, is preferred.
Strong mentoring skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn are essential.
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills are required, along with project management and organizational skills; Agile experience is a plus.
Experience with Data Governance best practices and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment is necessary.
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field is preferred.
