Description:
The Data Engineer position at Mindera involves building, maintaining, scaling, and integrating big data platforms.
Responsibilities include setting up and automating Data Science models/algorithms for production use.
The role offers the opportunity to work with the Data Science team to provide data insights for business decisions.
The job entails collaborating with various departments like Finance, risk, compliance, product, and engineering to meet requirements.
Data Engineers will be involved in building ETL/ELT data pipelines, implementing new data solutions, and designing data pipelines using Python.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines will be developed and designed.
Data Modelling using downstream requirements and transformation scripts using advanced SQL and DBT will be part of the role.
Designing dimensional data models using the Kimball approach for the Data Warehouse is required.
Data quality checks and incident-free production releases are essential tasks.
Building relationships with team members, peers, and stakeholders is a key aspect of the role.
Debugging production and development issues and providing support to colleagues are part of the responsibilities.
Overall data platform implementation contribution is expected.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Python and Shell Scripting.
Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS/Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of Object-oriented Programming languages.
Advanced experience in Data Modelling using Kimball techniques and Data Warehouse Design.
Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery.
Familiarity with DBT (data build tool) and Pyspark.
Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation.
Proficiency in source control, Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment through CI Pipelines.
Preferable experience with Airflow, Docker, and CI/CD.
Previous experience with AWS cloud services in production is a plus.
Knowledge of agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban is beneficial.
Fluency in English is required.
