Remote Data Engineer

Description:

• The Data Engineer at Wheel will work with data to solve business problems, build and maintain infrastructure, and streamline data science workflows.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with Engineering and Operations teams, making iterative improvements to back-end systems, modeling data sources, building data pipelines, and developing predictive models.
• The role also involves advocating for best practices and continued learning in data engineering and science.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer and 3+ years with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools.
• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, including Redshift, RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Aurora, Timestream/InfluxDB, Healthlake, Trino, Quicksight, etc.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical business leaders.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, research-oriented team with concurrent projects in a startup environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in ETL processes and professional certifications are a plus.
