Remote Data Engineer (Contract)

• The Data Engineer will work closely with clients to execute data strategies, including production-quality ETL and streaming data processing pipelines, data lake design, data governance, and building reports and dashboards.

• Responsibilities include guiding clients through their data journey, writing Data Ingest and ETL integrations, creating efficient SQL queries, designing visualization capabilities, and managing the technological infrastructure of a data platform.
• The Data Engineer will also evaluate business needs, generate ideas for data innovation, and enable exploratory analytics for business leaders.

Requirements:

• Candidates must possess effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks and projects according to an agreed roadmap are essential.
• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role working with big data pipelines is required.
• Strong experience with Data Warehousing (e.g., BigQuery) and Transactional Databases (such as Spanner, AlloyDB, MySQL, Postgres) is necessary.
• Candidates should have strong experience with visualization, reporting, and analytics tools such as Looker and Tableau.
• Knowledge of other big data tools such as Hadoop and Flink is a plus.
• Fluency in SQL or similar data manipulation syntax for relational databases is required.
• Technical expertise in relevant programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Java) is necessary.
