Remote Data Engineer (Contract)

• The Data Engineer will maintain and improve existing data processing workflows and infrastructure, ensuring data integrity.
• Responsibilities include designing and implementing new cloud data stores and data processing and analysis pipelines for scientific data sets.
• The role also involves improving data access through the organization and implementation of data visualization tools.
• The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to discovering new disease-modifying therapeutics.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, data science, or a similar field is required.
• The candidate must have 5+ years of data engineering experience with AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with data warehouses or query services for large data, such as AWS Athena or BigQuery, is necessary.
• Strong Python programming and software engineering skills are essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with scientific teams are required.
• Good coding practices, along with experience with version control, Docker, and virtual environments, are expected.
