Description:
GiveDirectly is seeking a Data Engineer (Contractor) to work remotely within an East Africa timezone for a one-year contract.
The contractor will collaborate with the Senior Data Architect and Fundraising Data Manager to build datasets that enhance understanding of donors and fundraising interventions.
Responsibilities include ingesting data from various platforms into the data lakehouse, building unified datasets, implementing data quality tests, and ensuring easy maintenance of pipelines and tools.
The role requires alignment with GiveDirectly values, proficiency in Python, SQL, and spark, experience with Databricks, and a commitment to being part of an exceptional team.
The compensation for this role is $130,000 per year in the United States and $74,000 per year in Kenya, with a total of $100,000 over the contract period regardless of location.
Requirements:

Proficiency in Python, SQL, and spark is required.
Experience with Databricks is preferred, and familiarity with Tableau is a plus.

Fluency in English is required.
