Remote Data Engineer (Contractor)

Description:

• GiveDirectly is seeking a Data Engineer (Contractor) to work remotely within an East Africa timezone for a one-year contract.
• The contractor will collaborate with the Senior Data Architect and Fundraising Data Manager to build datasets that enhance understanding of donors and fundraising interventions.
• Responsibilities include ingesting data from various platforms into the data lakehouse, building unified datasets, implementing data quality tests, and ensuring easy maintenance of pipelines and tools.
• The role requires alignment with GiveDirectly values, proficiency in Python, SQL, and spark, experience with Databricks, and a commitment to being part of an exceptional team.
• The compensation for this role is $130,000 per year in the United States and $74,000 per year in Kenya, with a total of $100,000 over the contract period regardless of location.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and spark is required.
• Experience with Databricks is preferred, and familiarity with Tableau is a plus.

• Fluency in English is required.
